LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 404A1 DIALYSIS CENTER AKURE

In our continuous effort as a social enterprise with a mission to alleviate the challenges of renal healthcare in Nigeria, Adcem Healthcare Limited, recently partnered with Lions Clubs International District 404A1 of Akure and the government of Ondo state to establish a dialysis center in Akure, Ondo state. For sustainability, the project has been designed to be a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project.

The government, through its ministry of health, allocated a land and other site requirements within a state owned hospital, University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Akure, while Lions Club International (HQ and District office) funded, planned, coordinated, erected and furnished the building and Adcem Healhcare Limited provides all dialysis equipment, including water pre-treatment amenities.

On the 25th June, 2020, the building with the state of the art dialysis machines and other equipment were commissioned by the Ondo state governor, His excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

HEINEKEN AFRICA FOUNDATION

Heineken through its CSR arm, Heineken Africa Foundation (HAF) purchased two dialysis machines for the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital to ensure HIV positive and Hepatitis B/C positive patients get access to dialysis.Due to the nature of these diseases, infected patients are often not accepted for dialysis in majority of government hospitals. They are referred to a private centre which is too costly for most patients and eventually die from kidney related illnesses.

Following the procurement and installation of the dialysis machines by the Foundation, the state government - through the teaching hospital - The running and maintenance of the machines have been handed over by the Foundation to the state government - through the teaching hospital. Adcem supplied and maintained the machines for the Foundation and presently maintains the machines for the hospital. Lagos State University Teaching Hospital already has sufficient well-trained personnel. Adcem supplied and maintains these machines for Heineken Africa Foundation.

MTN NIGERIA FOUNDATION

MTN Foundation (MTNF), through its Public - Private Partnership and its Medical Support Project for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, funded the establishment of 12 Haemodialysis centres in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria to support the use of Haemodialysis and Mammography in the management, early detection and prevention of Kidney disease.

Adcem Healthcare is working with MTNF, to provide the renal care services in 6 state-of-the-art Haemodialysis Centres across 3 geopolitical zones of Nigeria. The centres are located within selected Teaching Hospitals, Federal Medical Centres and State General Hospitals across Nigeria. Adcem provides the machinery, manpower and management for the running of the centres while the host hospitals provide the personnel. Adcem ensures that the centres are running effectively and that adequate technical and training support services are available. Also as part of the project, Adcem is also providing training/retraining of health care personnel and post-implementation support and maintenance across the sites.

UBA FOUNDATION

As part of its CSR, UBA through its CSR arm, UBA Foundation donated dialysis machine and consumables to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). Adcem supplied and maintains these machines for UBA Foundation.

Dantata & Sawoe

Also as part of their CSR, Dantata & Sawoe Ltd (an Abuja based construction company) donated dialysis machines and consumables to Mohammed Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital, Kano, and Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH),, Sokoto. Adcem also supplied and maintains these machines.

Rotary/Dangote

As a turnkey project, Rotary Club, District 911, donated a dialysis center financed by Dangote Group ltd, to the General Hospital, Lagos. This centre was built, equipped and is being run by Adcem.

Vamed

VAMED Engineering, a member of the VAMED Group, is one of the leading contractor for Health Care Facilities with its headquarters in Vienna. Vamed Engineering Nigeria Ltd. was contracted by the Federal Government to refurbish 14 Teaching Hosiptal within Nigeria. The core clinical areas to be refurbished are radiology (diagnostics and therapeutic), surgery (theatres), intensive care, the laboratories, accident and emergency and special clinical departments. Adcem Healthcare was contracted by Vamed to equip and maintain Kidney Dialysis Centres in various hospitals across the country.
